White Knight was founded in 1989 in Taunton, Somerset. With an innovative approach to VAT it developed an affordable first class VAT accounting service for independent retailers.
By 1992 White Knight was expanding rapidly, eventually opening a network of over 30 local offices throughout the United Kingdom providing a local service to retailers, but with the back up and expertise of a national company. Our software was created “in house” in 1989 and this has been (and still is being) upgraded to reflect the rapid developments in technology and the constant changes in VAT regulations.
White Knight (South Coast) was formed early in 1993 when Brian & Maureen Homer purchased a franchise licence to work a White Knight office covering Hampshire. Before this Brian resigned from the Natwest Bank after 22 years service and they both ran a convenience store in Somerset for fifteen years. A knowledge of the retail trade and having found the benefits of using White Knight for themselves in their own business made them ideal VAT consultants. White Knight (South Coast) quickly grew and is now able to deal with VAT enquiries from most counties in South East England.
